Updates are notifications of an update to software such as AdAware SE, Norton Antivirus, Windows Update, Major
device drivers, etc. Alerts are notification of a new major virus or trojan or security threat.

The purpose of this it to have a single central location to check for information.

This thread is intended as a resource for all users and to ensure that all important virus and secuity alerts are automatically in a sticky thread so that they will be easy to find.

From now on , this thread will be replaced monthly rather than cleaned , and the old one unstuck and locked and a
link to previous incarnations included in the new one.

Should have posted this last month but just became aware of it:

Windows 2000 update rollup 1 for Service Pack 4 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/server/evaluation/news/bulletins/rollup.asp)

All security updates produced for Windows 2000 between the time SP4 was released and April 30, 2005,
when the contents of the Update Rollup were finalized for testing by Microsoft.

Microsoft believes the Update Rollup meets customer needs more effectively and with less disruption than
a new service pack, and there will be no Service Pack 5 (SP5) for Windows 2000.
SP4 becomes the final service pack for Windows 2000.

Ok, I know it's a few days old, but I didn't see it here yet.

EDIT: Forgot to add that there is no patch for this vulnerability at this time. Workaround is to disable RDP or block it with a firewall.
