I just saw the movie "Kamakazie Girls" about Japanese "Lolitas" and Yankis". The first like to dress up all frilly, like Little Bo Peep or French maids. I think thay are somehow related to "Cosplays". I think we saw one of those on Ninja Warrior.

The Yankis are like biker chicks. Chopping your hair and changing the color to anything but black may be Yanki style. The word does not mean "Yankee" and it has something to do with Yakuza.

Somehow it seems to be an echo of the Mods and Rockers" that once lived in England.
Ok so we know nothing of all this but it's big in Japan. Sounds like a job for Morgan to investigate.

Oh well, I'd just like to see what Morgan would look like frilly.

If you wanna see crazy and cool Sundays on Harajuku bridge. You will see everything from Cosplay to Decora, Visual Kei, Lolita Etc. I currently go as a Black lolita and I mix it up with decora and cute visual kei. Japan mostly Tokyo can get crazy. There specail hotels you can go to, to make love becacuse there isnt enough room in Tokyo appt and also you dont want your neighbors to hear you or you want it very priviet. Whatever works. :pFetishes dont get me started.

well actualy cosplay is when you dress up as a comic or anime character gothic lolita and yanki espesially yanki's are not to be mixed with cosplays. even though their are some series that like to include them in there like they do the gals and ganguro peoples, anywho the ones that i have spoken with that claim to be such in nihon (japan) say its a life style and their not dressing up for fun their doing to prove a point. i have lived their long enough to know the differnce, btw gothic lolita are usally inspired with edwardian or victorian clothing and virtues (this is the true goth) and has nothing to do with anime or cosplay but more about trying to stay young, literature, tea parties, elegant food, and a soft lifestyle. in all their are i think 8 types of lolitas that people pratice, and as for yankis well.. yankis are deliquents that like to put a smudge on japan's criminal rate, there are some that can be link to the yakuza but most of them arent. they can also be linked to sukebans or banzoko<my romaji is horrible* bike gangs, but most yankis are noted to bleach their hair another color, in their school uniform *which is rare* its mostly altered or kept very untidy, if not in a uniform then the typical jumpsuit with a long trench coat equse looking jacket baring their clan name, they use weapons like any other criminal, and usualy partake in petty crimes. alot of yanki's today are around 12- 19 yrs of age intill they progress into much serious things.

also its not a french maid thing even though they do sometimes where a pinafore on thier dress, the whole thing is designed diffrent so that it can be worn as a dress and not like a creepy fetish thing.
