Not rooting against the guy, but I've got a feeling he'll fail. I think it would be great if he did do it (real movie like) but I don't think its gonna happen.

On April 24, Twin Galaxies announced that Steve Wiebe has officially taken the Donkey Kong Junior World Record.
The new World Record mark was accomplished on March 14 and verified by Twin Galaxies Chief Referee David Nelson. Steve's new World Record mark of 1,139,800 points takes the Donkey Kong Junior crown from fellow Washington state native Ike Hall, who was crowned the DKJ World Champ in August 2008 with a score of 1,033,000, taking the crown that Billy Mitchell had held on the game since 1985.

Yes that's April 24th 2009 for anyone keeping score at home. I say let's just see what happen's. I just hope Billy Mitchell is at the E3 thing to show that him and Steve are buddies even though king of kong said Diffrent.

I don't really pay attention to these things, but I'm going to have to watch this. Besides I'll be watching G4 as much as possible during their E3 coverage.

That would be cool if Steve Wiebe can get his title back.

Doesn't he have a whole week to keep trying? He'll do it eventually.

Agreed. If G4 is good at anything... at all... its E3 coverage.

I just have seen the king of kong for the first time, and i have been watching E3, and im so pumped to see BM's score crushed, and i hope when it happens he is there, and dies of a heart attack when it goes down...
He asked what people thought his 3 initials are, and what popped into my head was not usa... it was f a... yea you figure it out

I honestly love that movie, and billy thinks he is like MJ because he plays Donkey Kong. Steve seems like such a cool guy, good luck man, destroy his score.
PS: $20 says that when he gets close, there will be a million"Kill Screen Guy" jokes.

I just watched the video with Steve:10/10: Wiebe. One thing I do not understand is why Twin :confusedshrug:Galaxies would let anyone submit a tape of their score and not have them play live as an official rule? That seems lame to me and just as arrogant as Billy:confused: what's his name? Yes, Steve will win, because he has shown that practice does make for a damn good player! Go Steve! I am rooting for ya!:)

I hope that Steve gets the high score and it blows Billy away, and it happens to be the highest score the game can desplay so his record is sealed.

I can imagine Billy Mitchell walking around Waffle House passing out singles and acting rich.

Steve Wiebe reminds me so much of myself. gamer of course but he plays piano and wants to play drums like me. To be honest at first i didn't care about the world record attempt like i'll watch it to see his mad skills but that's it. But after i watched the movie and got the background the history etc I got interested alot more.
I hope Steve Wiebe takes the record i don't like Bill. GO STEVE!

While I was watching Steve Wiebe try to break the record it crossed my mind that if he does it live on TV, watch Billy Mitchell within a few hours upload a video to Youtube of him supposedly setting a new record score. The video would probably be shaky and seem to pause and jump a lot but Twin Galaxies would accept it as an official score and a new record.

I understand how Billy Mitchell came off as a dirtbag, but perhaps everyone needs to look at something.

Billy Mitchell is made to be a bad evil horrible person, when in reality he is just a bit ****y.
Like Steve said, they talk alot now, so honestly, its more a friendly rivalry if anything.
Besides, its Donkey Kong, not... Frogger... which is way better.
