A few simple gudelines:

1) Cena sucks

2) We don't give a **** if its fake or not

3) Dissing of the Undertaker/Triple H/other respected, veteran wrestlers is not tolerated

4) TNA is good

5) Flamers: STAY OUT

Folow these and we're good. Don't, and i'll have to ask you to leave, UNLESS you are a respected member.

i hope i got on tv with my sign. smackdown was a good show. i hope next time around, raw does a show here. it was the most successful event held at our new arena. it was the only show to sell out before the shows date. it was a long show. smackdown was filmed first. the ecw was shown live. when i thought the show was over, here comes a bonus match that wasn't aired. it was after that i got a high five from batista and tony chimmel.

Lashley Surgery Update - Another Serious Injury Discovered
WWE News :: Aug 9, 2007

Source: PWInsider.com

Bobby Lashley underwent surgery on his shoulder earlier this week under Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama to determine the extent of his recent injury. While doctors were expecting an injury to his rotator cuff, we've been told that another serious injury was discovered.

The former ECW Heavyweight Champion will be out of action for at least a month, probably longer. We'll post more details as we obtain them.

Lashley Has Surgery - Will Miss Upto 5 Months
WWE News :: Aug 10, 2007

Source: WrestlingObserver

Dave Meltzer is reporting that Bobby Lashley is estimated to be out of action for three to five months. While he did not have a torn rotator cuff as originally thought, he had other injuries that were significant enough that they could not be fixed through arthroscopic surgery.

If Lashley would have had a torn rotator cuff, he would have been out even more time. We will bring you more details as they become available.

Konnan's Body Rejects Donated Kidney; Details
TNA News :: Aug 10, 2007

- I received an email from Chad Broadwater, the man who donated a kidney to Konnan. Chad passed along word that as of 8/8, Konnan was headed to a transplant center in the U.S. to try and stop his kidney from failing.

Upon further research, I found that Konnan's body has rejected the kidney and he is headed to San Diego to see doctors. Here is the message on his MySpace which was posted on Tuesday, August 07, 2007 at 10:06 PM:

"Just so everyone knows i came home for one day decided to answer mail. My body is rejecting the kidney, i was in tiuana for 7 days and nothing really changed so i will be coming to san diego and see if they can fix me, thanx for the support and thank u chad. konnan s j"

- We'll keep you updated with anymore information that becomes available.

Breaking News: Titans File Restraining Order On Pacman
TNA News :: Aug 10, 2007

The Tennessee Titans have obtained a restraining order to prevent Adam "Pacman" Jones from participating in TNA's Hard Justice pay-per-view this Sunday night, according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.com.

Today, the Titans organization said in a prepared statement, "In June we stated that we didn't expect to comment on Adam Jones until his suspension was complete. Regrettably, we feel it necessary to explain our action today,"

"Today we filed a motion in Williamson County asking for a court order preventing Jones from participating in any wrestling activity," the statement read. "All NFL players have language in their contracts that prohibit them from engaging in activities 'which may involve a significant risk of personal injury.' We certainly believe wrestling to be hazardous and it is obvious from the player's conduct that he is ignoring this aspect of his agreements with the club. As an organization, we feel it is our obligation to protect our rights in this instance."

Jones' agent Worrick Robinson maintains that his client's focus is still on football and that he would not do anything with TNA Wrestling that would affect his health.

The Tennessee Titans are scheduled to meet with Jeff Jarrett tonight regarding the terms of some form of a compromise involving Adam "Pacman" Jones.

ESPN reported at the beginning of "SportsCenter" tonight that Jones is still planning on appearing at TNA's Hard Justice PPV on Sunday despite the restraining order against him.

MVP Diagnosed With Major Heart Issue; NOT STORYLINE
WWE News :: Aug 10, 2007

Source: WrestlingObserver.com

It's being said that current WWE United States Champion, MVP has been diagnosed with Wolff=Parkinson-White syndrome, which is an abnormal accessory pathway in his heart that was discovered during a recent physical.

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome can cause an abnormal heart rhythm and increase the risks of a heart attack. WWE is using this diagnosis to tout the company wellness policy. Routine cardiovascular tests were held in San Jose, which included running on a treadmill and then taking an EKG to check heart valves twice a year.

This past Monday, MVP was treated due to the abnormal pattern that was detected during the tests. This is one of the reasons as to why he hasn't been wrestling as of late. In the next few weeks, more tests are scheduled to be held to see if the treatment had any success.

Pacman & Titans Reach Agreement For TNA PPV
TNA News :: Aug 11, 2007

ESPN.com reported early Saturday morning that the Tennessee Titans and Adam "Pacman" Jones had reached an agreement to modify a temporary restraining order that prohibited Pacman working for TNA in any capacity.

Under the deal, Jones "would agree to avoid physical contact of any kind," reports ESPN. While the agreement allows Jones to have an out of ring involvement with TNA, it doesn't allow him to engage in anything that places him at risk for injury or personal harm.

The two sides will go before a judge Saturday morning to finalize the deal.

TNA still says as of Friday that Pacman will be at the Hard Justice PPV on Sunday.

OK first post in a while, but this one is worth it. I just got done watching Hard Justice. I wish the Steiner/3D match would have been a little better and a little longer, but given Scott's condition (I heard he really wasn't cleared to do the match) I understand. Joe/Angle finish became painfully obvious from the beginning. Chamber of Blood was too short, at least Abyss got the pin and will get the title shot. Best match though was the three-way Tag match between XXX vs. Lethal/Dutt vs. Sabin/Shelley. So many false finishes that were just AMAZING!!! Pacman showed up and talked crap then Ron Killings came out and wanted to charge the ring but security stopped him. But afterwards, we saw Pacman laid out in the back busted open then got carried into an ambulance. Bottom line I give TNA: Hard Justice a B-

Also just so you guys know, I will be seeing SummerSlam in a few weeks. But the best part about it, I'm watching it at a local bar with a VERY special guest. Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Didn't even know this thread existed, but now that I do I'll be using it a lot more. Here's my review of TNA Hard Justice and my preview of WWE Summerslam.

TNA Hard Justice:

It's official: TNA now combines the worst of the WWE circa 2001 with the worst of the WCW circa 1995, and has ruined it's only saving grace (the superior wrestling) with terrible booking from Russo (and Jarrett). I mean, what the hell were they thinking with the ref bump, interference angle? They think by being like WWE at it's worst, they have a shot at it's popularity? It's bad enough that this show will be directly competing with Summerslam, WWE's second-biggest PPV of the year, in the eyes of the viewer - but when it coincides with WWE actually getting their act together and (despite massive injury problems) backing the right horses (cept Khali, who's filler till Edge and Mysterio get back). It's like they're asking to be second-place, and that's exactly what they deserve after putting shows like this up. And what the hell is with TNA giving their tag-belts to one guy? Can someone explain that to me?

*1/2 / *****

MATCH REVIEW: Angle versus Joe

These two have great chemistry, and they're probably responsible for the match of the year right now. But low and behold, Vince Russo's TERRIBLE booking has it end with a disputed finish (thanks to the stupid gimmick that is Karen Angle) and sets up Angle/Joe 14. But hey, at least that might be separated by Angle/Abyss. This plot is thin, and with all the real talent that TNA has to push, you'd think they'd put Angle/Joe on hold for someone else.

The wrestling was fine, but the gimmick and ending killed the entire thing. What makes Professional Wrestling relevant in a world with UFC and Professional Boxing is the show. The gimmicks, the plots, and the characters. I lost all interest in the match because TNA messed-up, and that's why I can't pass the match.

** / *****

---
---

WWE Summerslam Preview:

Match's to look out for: Cena/Orton, Triple H/Booker T
Match's most likely to feature the best wrestling: Mysterio/Guerrero, MVP/Matt Hardy
Match's to ignore: Batista/Khali, Carlito/Umaga
Darkhorse Match: Kane/Finlay
Angle to look out for: McMahon's illegitimate son

Projected Outcomes:

Cena def. Orton by Submission. I'm going to go ahead and guess that Orton goes for that kick, and get's the STFU locked in for the submission. I really think that they want to keep building Cena as the "unbeatable" champion for the previously planned showdown with HHH.

HHH def. King Booker. This isn't even a question. They want to push HHH hard, and (like Ramos) I think they're going to use it to kill two-birds with one stone -- ending the "King" gimmick of Booker's and pushing Triple H for an eventual face/face feud with Cena.

Mysterio def. Guerrero. This is Smackdown!'s equivalent of HHH v. Booker. Mysterio is returning, and he's going to get the victory as a "push". I'm guessing they push him back into the championship hunt because the draft left Smackdown paper-thin with true-contenders (see; Khali's push). I wouldn't be surprised to find an Edge/Mysterio feud in place by the Rumble.

Khali def. Batista. Only if they ACTUALLY intend on pushing Mysterio into the title-contender position. David vs. Goliath is Vince McMahon's wet-dream (as evidenced by every incarnation of man vs. monster WWE has ever done). If they aren't going to push Mysterio, then I think Batista will fight through "the claw" (lame) and win-out against Khali.

Umaga def. Carlito in a squash. I think Carlito is going to lose hardcore, and I think they like pushing Umaga -- because he's the only "monster" on the WWE roster with any talent.

Hardy def. MVP. I'm all for pushing this feud, as these two are two of the most talented on the roster and could actually give real meaning to the United States title (something WWE has trouble with, also see the Intercontinental Championship). I personally don't care for Hardy, but he gets huge pops from almost every crowd. This feud could really help MVP with his heel heat for when he inevitably makes the jump to World Heavyweight Title contender.

Congress Asks TNA & NWA For Drug Testing Records
TNA News :: Aug 15, 2007

Congressman Cliff Stearns has joined Congressman Bobby Rush in requesting drug prevention records from wrestling organizations other than World Wrestling Entertainment. The two Congressmen have requested drug prevention records and drug program details from TNA, not to mention the National Wrestling Alliance -- which is a large governing body of small indy wrestling promotions.

They want the information by close of business on August 28th. The following press release was put out on the official United States House of Representatives website. Here is the press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

- August 14, 2007 -

STEARNS JOINS CHAIRMAN IN REQUESTING DRUG PREVENTION RECORDS FROM ADDITIONAL PRO WRESTLING GROUPS

REQUEST SENT TO TOTAL NON-STOP WRESTLING & NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE - WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT ALREADY CONTACTED

WASHINGTON, AUG. 14, 2007 - Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL), Ranking Member of the Commerce, Trade & Consumer Protection Subcommittee, joined the subcommittee's chairman, Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL), in contacting additional professional wrestling associations regarding their drug prevention efforts. Stearns and Rush requested this information from World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. last month.

"After I called for a congressional hearings on the use of steroids and other drugs in professional wrestling, I have heard from wrestlers that steroids, pain killers, and other drugs are used frequently in the industry," said Stearns. "Trafficking in steroids and other drugs is a felony and their use without a prescription is also a crime. In addition to ensuring that our laws are respected, Congress has a responsibility to protect young people from the harmful impact of drug use in pro wrestling. Some 1 million children under the age of 11 watch pro wrestling and many emulate the wrestlers they see."

The associations are asked to outline their drug-testing policies and efforts to detect and prevent the use of steroids and other drugs. As a result of the numerous premature deaths of wrestlers, in many cases involving drugs, Stearns and Rush have discussed holding a hearing in the fall to look into drug use within the industry.

Order of deaths key to wrestler's estate

By HARRY R. WEBER, Associated Press WriterWed Aug 15, 5:22 PM ET

The future of pro wrestler Chris Benoit's millions could come down to the timing of a horrible crime: Did Benoit - having taken high doses of steroids - strangle his wife and then their young son before killing himself, or did the boy die first?

Lawyers for Benoit's mother-in-law, Maureen Toffoloni, filed a petition last week asking a court to determine the order of the deaths, which could affect whether she gets any of the estate.

Neither Benoit nor his wife left a will, so the death order could mean the difference in whether Toffoloni or Benoit's children from a previous marriage inherit the two homes, several bank and investment accounts and other assets estimated to be worth millions. Lawyers in the case declined Wednesday to provide an exact value.

Investigators have repeatedly said that Benoit killed his wife, then their son and himself during the weekend of June 22.

District Attorney Scott Ballard has said the wrestler used a cord to strangle his wife, then killed his son with a choke hold, then placed Bibles next to the bodies and hanged himself on a piece of exercise equipment.

Under that scenario, the estate would pass to Benoit's surviving two children, who live in Canada with their mother, said Cary Ichter, an attorney for Benoit's father, Michael.

But if the boy was killed first and then the wife, under Georgia law at least some of the estate would pass to Toffoloni, lawyers in the case said.

That's because of a forfeiture statute that takes into account the fact that Benoit was the killer. As such, the law for purposes of estate distribution would consider Benoit to have died before his wife and son.

Ichter said that if the boy was killed first, the estate would pass to the wife and, since she was killed, it would then pass to her family. But he noted that police don't believe that is how it happened.

Richard Decker, an attorney for Toffoloni, of Daytona Beach, Fla., said he doesn't believe the order of deaths is clear. He said he is asking the Fayette County court to make a determination based on the law "and not what we hear on TV."

Investigators have not given a motive for the killings, but the question of whether steroids played a role has lingered. Anabolic steroids were found in Benoit's home, and tests showed Benoit had roughly 10 times the normal level of testosterone in his system when he died.

Besides the Fayetteville home, estimated to be worth $1.5 million to $3.5 million, the Benoits had a home in nearby Peachtree City, which was for sale for $400,000 at the time of the killings, according to Decker. The house was not sold and has since been taken off the market, he said.

A probate court hearing over the appointment of estate administrators is scheduled for Aug. 28, Ichter said.

Ballard did not return a call Wednesday seeking comment. A spokesman for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation declined to comment.

Triple H May Star In Upcoming "Thor" Movie - Director Angry
WWE News :: Aug 15, 2007

Several comic book news websites are reporting that WWE superstar Triple H being considered for the lead role in upcoming "Thor" movie. The Marvel Comics superhero is based on the mythological god of thunder and war.

Unfortunately for Triple H, there is one major obstacle in his way. Director Matthew Vaughn is not happy that a pro wrestler is being considered for the lead role in his biggest project to date. He addressed the rumor of Triple H's involvement in a recent interview. "I'll give you two reasons I dont put much stock in the otherwise very interesting rumor - "Chris" and "Benoit". With wrestling taking its biggest PR hit ever, I would be incredibly surprised if Marvel were to take that big of a risk with Thor."

The Thor character is a comic book superhero and the mythological god of thunder and war. The movie is scheduled for a 2009 release. It is being produced by Marvel Entertainment and will be distributed by Paramount Pictures.

ecw i thought did pretty good last tuesday. the matches owned and was just mainly focused on wrestling which is nice. i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif.

however does seem like raw mgiht starting having more of an influance on it which i'm not sure is the best for the branch. mean bobby was ecw champ and never actually wrestled on the show lol.
i think matt striker or fully would of make a much better gen manager for that show, though. that cuban guy doesn't work for me. hope they at least give him like a john Morison type make over.

btw HHH would make a badass thor. i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

TNA Releases 5 Wrestlers From Their Contracts
TNA News :: Aug 16, 2007

Source: PWTorch.com

Jerry Lynn, Brother Runt, Basham, Damaja, & Matt "Martyr" Bentley are done with TNA Wrestling. Jerry Lynn approached TNA management and asked for a release. The other men were told about their releases by Terry Taylor. Each of them will be welcomed back to the company in the future and booked on a per-show basis (without a longterm contract).

Out of the men released, Jerry Lynn and Matt Bentley have the best chance of getting picked up by WWE. Jerry Lynn has a history with the ECW brand and is a great worker, despite his age and size. Bentley is the nephew of Shawn Michaels, which could certainly work in his favor. With the recent signing of Teddy Hart to a WWE developmental deal, it could be interesting to see the nephew of Shawn Michaels wrestle against the nephew of Bret Hart in a WWE ring.

In a related note, those 5 profiles have been removed from TNAWrestling.com and profiles for Black Reign (Dustin Runnels), Andrew Martin, Rick Steiner, Matt Morgan, & Pacman Jones have been added.

Brock Lesnar Negotiating With TNA Wrestling
TNA News :: Aug 15, 2007

Source: PWInsider.com

TNA Wrestling is currently in preliminary negotiations with former WWE champion Brock Lesnar.

Kurt Angle is the one who is brokering the deal and bringing the 2 sides together. Angle has a very good relationship with Lesnar and has tried several times to convince him to join TNA.

Dixie Carter has already had one meeting with Lesnar in Nashville to discuss the possibility of working together. Carter made it very clear to Lesnar that she understands Brock's MMA involvement and would be 100% flexable to his schedule. TNA is hoping to get SpikeTV to help pay Lesnar, as they did for the massive contracts given to Kurt Angle and Sting.

Brock Lesnar actually contacted WWE early this year about a 1-time appearance at WrestleMania. He offered to job cleanly to whoever WWE wanted - but he wanted too much money and Vince McMahon was still furious about the way Lesnar left WWE 3 years ago and the back-and-forth lawsuits that followed.

If a deal is made, Lesnar is expected to start with the company this fall, when TNA iMPACT! expands to 2 hours on Thursday nights. This would be a tremendous acquisition for TNA.

[Breaking News] "The Missing Link" Dewey Robertson Passes Away

LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com is sad to hear of the passing of Dewey Robertson, better known as "The Missing Link" passed away at 3:30 AM on Thursday morning at Hamilton's Henderson Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was 68 years old.

Robertson started wrestling in his native Canada in the 1960s under the name of Dewey Robertson. He was a very popular babyface in the Toronto area. He left to wrestle in the United States in 1973, but returned a year later as The Masked Crusader with manager John St. John. He was on a crusade to keep wrestling scientific but was soon unmasked by The Sheik. After that, Robertson formed a tag team called "The Crusaders" with Billy Red Lyons.

He owned a gym in the 1970s and had a television spot where he tore up a phone book to promote his gym.

In 1979, Robertson wrestled in the NWA's Jim Crockett Promotions as a heel with "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers as his manager. He used Rogers' figure-four leg lock as his finisher.

He changed his look and became The Missing Link in 1983 in Mid-South Wrestling and started acting crazy. He got over and was signed by the World Wrestling Federation in 1985. He was managed by both Jimmy Hart and Bobby Heenan and often was stopped from doing a flying headbutt on a chair by Heenan after a match. His gimmick eventually got him featured in Sports Illustrated.

He left for World Class Championship Wrestling in 1986 and was managed by Sunshine. In late 1986, he left for the Universal Wrestling Federation where he was managed by Dark Journey.

He retired in the 1990s but came back to do independent shows as The Missing Link starting in 2004.

Robertson had an addiction to cocaine and amphetamines that he overcame in the late 1980s. He also admitted to taking steroids and abusing alcohol during his career.

WWE News :: Aug 22, 2007

Source - PWInsider

WWE has officially announced that they have signed Ring of Honor & Wrestling Society X star Matt Sydal. There is no word on when he is expected to report to their developmental territory however he is expected to fulfill his contractual obligations.

Sydal has been a very hot commodity since the demise of WSX. Both TNA and ROH have made negations with him. Japanese wrestling promotion Dragon Gate was also said to be very interested in him.

They need to do some time of story line with Matt Sydal and Codey Rhodes. They look so much a like.

Lesnar Challenges UFC Champion & Will Be At UFC 74
UFC News :: Aug 24, 2007

Source: MMAWeekly.com

Contacted by several promotions, Lesnar is tired of the run-a-round and is ready to ink a deal.

"We're playing the games, but I'm tired of playing games," stated Lesnar. "It's time for somebody to make a move. I'm going to go down to the UFC and see what the hell is going on down there."

Asked if he has talked to UFC President Dana White about his interest in competing in the Octagon, Lesnar answered, "We've spoken. I cannot deny or confirm anything. I'm just telling you this, I'm going to be there Saturday night and I'm looking for a win. I don't care who it is. If I had to fight somebody, I'd like to fight Randy [Couture]. I'll fight [Gabriel] Gonzaga. We'll see what happens."

He added, "I hope Randy wins that fight. I hope Randy wins that fight and then I can fight him in December."

"I'm going to be attending the UFC this weekend, and I'm going to go down and watch and see in person, because I've watched these guys fight on TV. I'm going to go down there and see for myself and watch these heavyweights that I know I can beat," Lesnar told MMAWeekly.

"I'm looking to fight somebody with credentials. I'm not just talking Silver Medals in Judo. I want a belt. I've fought a lot of tomato cans. I've already had it. You know? I want a fillet Mignon. Let's do it, and do it right. I want to fight somebody, somebody that's got credentials because I've got them too. There isn't a wrestler, there isn't a heavyweight out there my size that has done the things I've done."

Questioned if the UFC is where he'd like to eventually compete, Lesnar responded, "The UFC, they're the big dogs on the street, obviously. You've got Randy Couture, who he's definitely going to be past his prime here. You've got Fedor [Emelianenko]. There's nobody out there that is unbeatable. Okay? All the media builds Fedor into this great monster. Well, every monster has his day.

"There isn't a guy like me walking around that can do the things that I do. These guys, they don't know. Let's put it this way, in college, or everywhere that I've gone, everybody has said that I'm one strong son-of-a-bitch, and that's what I am, and I'm able to back it up."

Lesnar has a wrestling resume that rivals or surpasses most everyone competing in MMA. We've seen accomplished collegiate wrestlers like Randy Couture, Matt Lindland, Josh Koscheck, and others succeed in MMA.

Does Lesnar believe he has the ability to have the same success?

"Absolutely, no doubt in my mine. I mean, you take Randy Couture for example, I mean he's the heavyweight champion of the UFC, but he's a small heavyweight. Let's face it, Tim Sylvia was not a legitimate heavyweight champion," responded Lesnar.

"I enjoyed watching Randy beat the ***** out of Tim Sylvia. I enjoyed that. I mean take a look at this guy, Tim Sylvia, the guy's feet; they're damn near webbed. He looks like the Swamp Thing. The guy is a vulture. He can't wrestle worth a crap. He's got a jab and a little right hand. There's no way. I'd double-leg his a** right through that cage so fast, and that would be the end of the fight. I'm tired. I'm tired of this. Brock Lesnar wants to fight somebody, somebody with credentials, and Tim Sylvia ain't the guy."

"I'm a fighter, and I believe that if somebody should be holding a belt in the UFC, it's Brock Lesnar."

The UFC has negotiated with Kurt Angle to fight in the Octagon; it would only make sense for them to jump on the opportunity to sign Lesnar.

Alright, back from meeting the Best there is, the Best there was, and the Best there ever will be and all I have to say is, I think I'm going to be sick physically and emotionally. I woke up yesterday morning not feeling good. I got to the bar, nice environment. We waited in some ballroom for the event to start and they kept showing the same 3 SSlam clips over and over it got boring. The place though was packed, I'd say somewhere between 500-1000 people there to meet Bret. Bret was appreciative, but it didn't look like he wanted to be there. At least he SHOOK MY HAND!!! Then SSlam started. Boring PPV except HHH's return. I lost money on the Cena match damnit. But right before the place emptied, the bar announced that they are going to do it again for Unforgiven and a choice of about 5-6 potential guests. They were Christian (I hope not) Lita, The Wild Samoans, George the Animal Steele, and

Nick Hogan Update With Pictures From The Scene
WWE News :: Aug 27, 2007

CLEARWATER - Police are investigating a car crash on Court Street involving pro-wrester Hulk Hogan's 17-year-old son Nick.

Witnesses say the yellow sports car was traveling at a high rate of speed before it careened out of control and hit a palm tree in the raised median of the four-lane road.

The force of the impact destroyed the Toyota Supra, and firefighters had to cut Hogan and another man from the wreckage.

Police say Hogan was the driver. He was less seriously hurt than the passenger who is in critical condition. Both men were flown to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment.

Hogan - whose real name is Nicholas Alan Bollea - is one of the stars of the reality show Hogan Knows Best.

He's also a professional driver and is signed with Dodge on the professional drift circuit. He got his Formula Drift license.

[Wow....|http://nodq.com/wwe/190512218.shtml]

Looks like WWE is actually starting to take their own wellness program seriously. One thing I think is good is that they will start releasing the names of the guys who violate the wellness program. Personally, I think that they should have been releasing names in the first place. By not they made it seem that they were hiding something.

On a personal note: I dislike this new layout. It is not pleasing to my eyes.

*Breaking News: WWE Suspends 10 Wrestlers*
WWE News :: Aug 30, 2007

Source: WrestlingObserver.com

Dave Meltzer is reporting that WWE suspended ten performers today based on information that the company received from investigators in the Albany, NY district attorney?s office.

Those names include: Randy Orton, Charles Haas, Jr., Adam "Edge" Copeland, Robert "Booker T" Huffman, Shane Helms, Mike Bucci, Anthony "Santino Marelli" Carelli, John "Johnny Nitro" Hennigan, Darren "William Regal" Matthews, Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson and Chavo Guerrero . Only ten of the eleven wrestlers listed are currently on-screen performers for WWE. Simon Dean hasn't wrestled in over a year -- he's currently an office worker for WWE.

Update: A number of the suspensions -- if not all the suspensions -- were based on proof of wrestlers using Signature Pharmacy or another internet prescription type firm for their drugs. Getting drugs from one of these internet prescription firms is a violation of the WWE Wellness policy.

Sorry d....this story is true.

From WWE.com

Wellness Policy Suspensions
Written: August 30, 2007
Based on independent information received from investigators from the Albany County, NY D.A.?s office, WWE has today, under the penalty provisions of its wellness policy, issued suspension notices to 10 of its performers for violations. It has been WWE?s practice not to release the names of those who have been suspended, but notice has been sent to all WWE performers that names of anyone who is suspended under the Wellness Policy as of November 1 will be made public.

We still don't know what they failed for. I don't know about the actual list of superstars being true, but 10 wrestlers were suspended.

Shane Helms
Mike "Simon Dean" Bucci
Anthony "Santino Marelli" Carelli
John "Johnny Nitro" Hennigan
Darren "William Regal" Matthews
*Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson*
Chavo Guerrero

**UPDATE**

Later this evening, ESPN named more superstars that were clients of Signature Pharmacy. The names ESPN revealed are:

Shoichi Funaki
*Dave "Batista" Bautista*
Chris "Masters" Mordetsky

So far, the WWE is refusing to list of suspended names but they have confirmed they issued the suspensions based on independent information received by the Albany DA. WWE is the first organization to reprimand its employees in the Signature Pharmacy scandal. Investigators say they expect numerous stars from Major League Baseball and The NFL to emerge soon as well.

It's obvious that this has rocked WWE to the core at a very bad time for the company as they prepare for the Congressional hearings. We will keep you up to date on any breaking information as soon as it becomes available.

apparently mike bucci was released earlier today

"One of the names listed on the New York Daily News' list of Signature Pharmacy clients has been fired by WWE. That person is none other than Mike Bucci, who is better known as Simon Dean. Bucci was largely the manager of WWE's developmental territories, leaving behind his career as an active wrestler last summer to take the management position.

A number of sources within WWE are saying that the company terminated Bucci's contract sometime this afternoon. The word among wrestlers is that Bucci was called in for a meeting today by WWE officials on the heels of his name being mentioned by the The New York Daily News yesterday as one of the wrestlers named in the Signature Pharmacy growth enhancing drug scandal. Wrestlers at the Florida Championship Wrestling training center were told of Bucci's dismissal this afternoon according to sources.

It is believed that Bucci was something of a sacrificial lamb, hence his sudden dismissal from the company. He wasn't getting good reviews with his work and thus he was considered to be expendable. Bucci was someone WWE could let go to "show" that they were serious about the current problem. Considering that he was in a management position and wrestlers fell under his leadership, WWE felt that they had no choice but to let him go because "they couldn't have him setting an example like that."

Bucci's dealings with Signature Pharmacy likely occurred when he was an active wrestler for WWE, not while he was a manager of WWE's developmental territories. Had he not moved into that leadership position and just stayed on as an active wrestler, he probably would have only faced a 30-day suspension. But since he was in a leadership position, he is now out of a job.

Bucci had been affiliated with WWE since 2002. After working in OVW for two years, he was finally promoted to the main roster in the fall of 2004 under the guise of a physical-fitness guru named Simon Dean. He faded away from his active wrestling duties in 2006 and wrestled in his last match in June of last year. He was taken off the road as an active wrestler so that he could put more focus on his Head of Developmental Talent Relations job. When WWE pulled their affiliation with DSW in April, Bucci was transferred to Florida Championship Wrestling to help run the developmental league with Steve Keirn. "

*Samoa Joe Addresses Rumors He's Leaving TNA*
TNA News :: Aug 31, 2007

In regards to recent rumors that he would be leaving TNA for perhaps a deal in WWE, Samoa Joe posted the following on his official web site:

*"Former X-Division champion Samoa Joe has been telling people that he would rather accept an entry level WWE contract (believed to be $50,000 per year), rather than resigning with TNA. Joe is not happy in TNA, and doesn't want to stay with the company when his current contract expires."

This statement is untrue because of one tell all reason. "he would rather accept an entry level WWE contract (believed to be $50,000 per year), rather than resigning with TNA."

Buuuuuuuuuull*****, Are you crazy? I really really like money! You see, the goal as a career pro wrestler is to work hard, make money, and hopefully have a life that is somewhat of a comfortable experience in your latter years. Do many of us succeed? Well, no but a Kid can dream can't he?

The only reason why I choose to openly refute this rumor is because in all honesty it makes me look SO UNCOOL around the office! I mean when you make up cool rumors that make me seem all super rebellious and anti authority I just ride with it, but when you make up rumors that I am going to work just as hard for less money, well that just make me feel that you think I would be dumb enough to do something like that.
In closing,

My name is Samoa Joe
and You can watch me & TNA Wrestling on SPIKE TV..

*WWE Suspends 11th Wrestler Linked to Signature Pharmacy*
WWE News :: Sep 1, 2007

Source: New York Newsday

The Saturday edition of New York Newsday newspaper has quotes from WWE lawyer Jerry McDevitt regarding ANOTHER WWE superstar who has been suspended by the company. The 11th suspension is also in connection to a corrupt Internet pharmacy. Signature Pharmacy is under federal investigation for distributing growth enhancement and pain relief drugs without legitimate perscriptions.

McDevitt said that of the 11 wrestlers suspended, 10 will be out for 30 days while one wrestler is a 2-time Wellness Policy offender and will be suspended for 60 days.

Think he'll still have the retard gimmick if he washes up in TNA?

*Top WWE Star Claiming He Wants To Sue The Media*
WWE News :: Sep 2, 2007

During the meeting before the ECW/SmackDown! tapings yesterday, Batista asked Stephanie McMahon what he could do legally about his name being included in the recent media reports, citing publicly in front of the crew that he had never received anything from the online pharmacy companies. Stephanie told him that was an issue he and his attorneys should look into, also mentioning that she was under the impression he was already doing that (which would mean a civil lawsuit seeking damages).

Batista claims that there was no connection between him and the pharmacies and he is very upset at Sports Illustrated and other media outlets for reporting his name.

*Breaking News: Ric Flair Tries To Quit WWE*
WWE News :: Sep 4, 2007

Source: PWTorch

Apparently Ric Flair quit WWE earlier this week. The possible departure from the company doesn't have anything to do with the recent WWE drug scandal, but sources say he's just frustrated with his push and hasn't received any encouraging communication from WWE management.

As of now WWE hasn't given Ric Flair his release. WWE management are trying hard to get Flair to cool down and not quit the company. Discussions are going on to sort things out because WWE really doesn't want Flair to leave.

*Report: Chris Benoit's Brain Was Severely Damaged*
WWE News :: Sep 5, 2007

Source ABCNews.com

ABC News is confirming that tests conducted by Julian Bailes of the Sports Legacy Institute show that Chris Benoit?s brain was severely damaged at the time he murdered his wife and son before taking his own life. According to the tests his brain resembled that of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient. Bailes said that the damage was the result of lifetime chronic concussions and head trauma.

Chris Benoit was famous for his flying headbutt, which is a lot of stress on the brain each time the maneuver is pulled off. While nothing can justify his actions, this at least helps the coping process.

I think its going to be HHH.

Ceielo

And... I'M BACK!

*insert welcome backs*

I really thought Mr. Kennedy was going to be the illegitimate son. Now I am thinking it's Triple H after what Dawn said. Let me paraphrase her;

"I think it's going to be Triple H, because Vince is going to step down from being Chairman of the WWE. He doesn't want the world to know that HHH and Steph are actually married, so he is going to have him be the son. That way, he can give the WWE to Triple H, and still the unknowing fans will still not know that his daughter and his Son in Law are the owners of the WWE."

That pretty much sums it up. When she told me that, I was in complete awe.

After the "clue" with the look up, here's what I had to say in another forum.

"But with that clue, the only one that fits in my mind is Shawn Michaels.

He is very religious and is very open about it. And God is "up" there. He always looks up before entering the ring. He is out from Randy Orton and is "getting better", so things are looking up for him.

Anyways, that's what I think."

As for Khali being the Champ, I think that's the biggest rip off since the Montreal Screw Job! Or maybe not, but I hate Khali. I hope Rey gets the win and becomes the Champ. Not because of Benoit though.

I was reading the old posts, and someone said that "Ray is going back to WWE instead of TNA?" Who is that? Brother Ray? Please clarify for me please.

I think Brock Lesnar being in TNA could be good with Kurt Angle there. His match with Angle at WrestleMania stands as one of my Top 20 of All Time Matches I have ever seen. If they can do it again, that would be great to see. Would give me something to watch in TNA.

Also about JBL being on Commentary. I love him there because he can talk about how the match-ups go, and how they can get the advantage, and talk about how a move or situation can hurt/be taken advantage of. I LOVE hearing all of that when JBL I watch SmackDown! I love that Michael Cole asks him how this situation goes for each competitor. Helps me and my friends understand the Psychology of the wrestlers, because he has been there for quite a while.

As for RAW/ECW/SmackDown!, I am loving ECW the most. That match for the ECW Championship is now in my Top 10 of All Time Matches! John Morrison and CM Punk were so amazing with each other in this match. It was full of moves left and right, with great spots all over. It's matches like this, and people like them that makes me like ECW out of any wrestling show that I can currently watch.

I love that MVP is still the US Champion AND the Tag Team Champion. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

I don't think so. On the McMahon DVD, Stephanie shot down the idea of a storyline where Shane (or Vince himself) was the father of her baby.

Seeing how Steph and Triple H are a real-life couple and that wrestling has taken it biggest PR hit in history over the pass few months, I seriously think an incest storyline is out of the question.

*Big Show & Ric Flair Linked To Steroid Scandal*
WWE News :: Sep 6, 2007

The following is an excerpt from an article in today's Palm Beach Post linking Ric Flair and Paul Wight to receiving packages from a Tampa drug clinic.

In 2003, the Hillsborough County sheriff arrested and charged John Todd Miller with posing as a doctor and running a Tampa medical clinic that allegedly supplied wrestlers, law enforcement officers and businessmen with anabolic steroids. The case was dropped because of a lack of evidence, but the case file shows how wrestlers might obtain drugs.

Misty Waldo, an employee of the clinic, told detectives that when she was hired, she was told to expect to see wrestlers at the clinic. Waldo said she sent overnight "packages" to Paul Wight, formerly known as "The Big Show" in the WWE, and Richard Fliehr, a top star whose professional name is Ric Flair. Investigators didn't specify the contents of those packages.

Wight did not return a message Wednesday. The WWE, Flair's employer, did not respond to a request for comment.

In documents filed by investigators, former University of North Carolina wrestler T.J. Jaworsky said he was introduced to Miller by Flair two years prior for help in healing a sports injury and that he paid $1,200 per "cycle" for unspecified drugs. Flair called Jaworsky "everything I'd want my kid to be" in his 2004 book, To Be The Man. Contacted recently, Jaworsky said he hadn't talked to Flair in more than two years and he doesn't remember Miller. "It happened so long ago," Jaworsky said.

*Kurt Angle Furious Backstage At TNA No Surrender PPV*
Posted in: TNA News on Sep 11, 2007 - 2:46:00 PM

Source: PWTorch.com

For those who didn?t see TNA?s No Surrender, about an hour after Black Machismo pinned Kurt Angle for the X-Division title, he was sent out to the ring to basically play a jobber role and get tossed out of the ring by Samoa Joe in his rampage.

Kurt Angle, who earlier in the night insisted that he put over Black Machismo clean, was furious with this. Angle even turned down a proposed idea to have interference lead to him getting pinned. Angle was enraged with the fact that he just put Machismo over and the TNA bookers damaged whatever ha had gained from the big win over angle by treating him like a jobber just an hour later on the same show.

Posted in: WWE News on Sep 11, 2007 - 11:16:12 AM

Source: PWInsider

Sherri Martel was found dead in her Alabama home on June 15th. New details have been released regarding her cause of death. The Associated Press has issued the following statement regarding the results of Sherri Martel's toxicology report:

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Tuscaloosa homicide investigators say WWE Hall of Famer Sherri Martel had multiple drugs in her system when she died, including a high amount of oxycodone.

A homicide spokesperson said her June death in McCalla was ruled an accident.

Martel, who was 49, was inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame last year and won championship titles in the American Wrestling Association and World Wrestling Federation.

At the time of her death, Captain Loyd Baker of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit had said foul play isn't suspected, but that Martel didn't die of natural causes.

What made it even sadder was it was during mcmahon's kayfabe death so the wwe almost completely looked over it except a dedication before a diva's tag match. Also it was two weeks before benoit which made benoit's death even sadder.

also, there's some genuine heat for the women's title match. I think for the first time since trish stratus' final match(I had excitement for the cyber sunday match becasue of 2/3 of the stipulations but when it was a lumberjil match I my excitement went down in the dumps), I have some genuine excitement for the women's title match. I'm really waiting to see how candice's year and a half of hard work stacks against beth's immense strength(I don't know how well beth is at carrying a match, but if she's as good as victoria this should be pretty awesome) I'd still rather see beth vs mickie, but seeing as these two have never had a singles match I'd really like to see how the size difference pans out in a match.

It was posted on SEscoops.com today and I just reposted it here.

So if it's old news... it's their fault

BTW: Did anyone see the kid in the Christian Cage shirt get a close-up on RAW Monday?

OK, I haven't figured out how to quote on these new forums yet so I am just saying that I am quoting KTE on how Kurt was angry about Black Machismo,

you're not reading it right, Kurt wasn't happy that he lost all three belts, hes mad that he voluntarily did the job to Black Machismo, only to really be for nothing as Jay did a quick turnaround to be a jobber himself to Joe during his tirade. It's as if Kurt did that to make himself uber weak.

Nascar: That's my point! Kurt knew odds were that he might end up jobbing. I saw the match and thought it was great! I didn't think Angle "jobbed" per say. He was told to put Lethal over and that what he did. For some reason, Kurt's ego's gotten in the way and he's being a baby about this whole thing...

*Kennedy Defends WWE; Put His Foot In His Mouth Again*
Posted in: WWE News on Sep 14, 2007 - 11:06:44 AM

Ken Kennedy really put his foot in his mouth after an interview he did with Fighting Spirit magazine in the United Kingdom. In the interview Kennedy said the following:

+So, like, everybody used to live that lifestyle and that?s what the business was. But you can?t get away with it nowadays, because we do have a drug testing policy, as much as everybody wants to say that it?s not legitimate. Well, it is legitimate, because they stand there and they watch you pee. It?s like, how much more do you want? And there are certain circumstances where guys have an elevated testosterone level, above 4:1. But if you do, you?d better have a damn good reason why, and a doctor?s excuse, and a legitimate doctor?s excuse, or you?re gonna be suspended and fined and potentially fired. And that?s just the way it goes ? zero tolerance. And I hate it, it really irritates me when I see these people get on TV shows and say, ?Well, their Wellness Policy is a joke? and ?They?re allowed to have ten times the legal amount of steroids in their bodies?. The fact is that we?re not allowed to have any steroids in our bodies. Period.+

The interview was obviously done before he was suspended 30 days for violating the Wellness Policy. Kennedy was spotted backstage this past Monday at RAW in his hometown. He told people he would see them in Cleveland, Ohio on October 1st for RAW.

Undertaker is returning tonight. I can't wait to see one of my favorite wrestlers of all time make Mark Henry "rest in peace". :)

Also, has everyone heard that Ariel from ECW is coming to TNA. Also there's rumors of Lita coming to TNA aswell. When TNA becomes 2 hours long, we are in for some great matches in the near future. :)

"Sonny Siaki has been released from his WWE developmental contract.

He was recently working for the Florida Championship Wrestling developmental territory after being moved from Deep South Wrestling when that closed down. In FCW, he was in a tag team with Afa Jr. called 'The Samoan Fight Club'. However, Afa Jr. was moved to Ohio Valley Wrestling this week to do a tag team with former WWE star Rosey called 'Sons of Samoa', so well, that left Siaki on his own. Siaki worked a few WWE house shows earlier in the year, but apparently officials weren't impressed enough to call him up the main roster. During Armando Estrada's hiatus this spring/summer, there were rumors of calling Siaki up to the ECW roster along with some other developmental talent to form a faction with Estrada as the manager. But then Estrada was made the General Manager of ECW, and those plans were pretty much called off. Siaki had been under contract to WWE since December 2005.

WWE has yet to confirm the release on their official website. They may not even acknowledge it."

*HBO Special On Deaths & Drugs In Wrestling, RVD's Return*
Posted in: WWE News on Sep 13, 2007 - 2:06:42 PM

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

HBO was in Pennington Gap, Virginia on September 1st interviewing Buff Bagwell about deaths and drug usage in professional wrestling. The HBO Real Sports story was originally postponed, but it appears it may not be dead after all.

Rob Van Dam has sent word to a local Southern California pro wrestling group about working with them, since it doesn't require any time on the road. RVD hasn't been interested in anything related to wrestling since leaving WWE.

*HBO Special On Wrestling To Air Tonight*
Posted in: WWE News on Sep 18, 2007 - 11:16:47 AM

HBO's long awaited expose on the life of pro wrestlers airs TONIGHT. Catch "Real Sports With Bryant Gumble" at 10:00PM eastern. Several former pro wrestlers were interviewed for the segment. Here is HBO's official preview:

"THE LIFE" - Over the last decade, a host of wrestlers have died before age 45, some from injuries sustained in the ring, others from drug overdoses and others from complications brought on by years of steroid and other drug use. Following the recent suicide of professional wrestler Chris Benoit, Real Sports revisits this disturbing trend. Often, young athletes lured to the industry by the promise of fame and fortune discover a truly lonely existence: On the road for as many as 300 days a year, with no job security, and performing in debilitating pain, they can spiral into depression and drugs. With some in the business saying the industry is to blame, correspondent Armen Keteyian examines why the problem persists and what is being done to remedy it.

Armen Keteyian interviewed Vince McMahon for HBO's Real Sports back in 2003. That infamous interview is best remembered Vince McMahon losing his temper and trying to smack the papers out of Keteyian's hands while being questioned.

*Steve Austin Says He's "Through With Wrestling"*
Posted in: WWE News on Sep 19, 2007 - 6:04:23 PM

In a new interview with UGO.com to promote the DVD release of The Condemned, Steve Austin says he has moved on from wrestling to pursue acting full time. An excerpt from the interview which can be read at UGO.com:

+"This is what I'm pursuing full time. I'm through with wrestling. Wrestling was one of the best jobs, the most fun I've ever had in my life, and I had a good time doing it. Fifteen years on the road, it's time to do something else. I have a three-picture deal with WWE Films. I'm trying to find the number two movie right now that we can start shooting ASAP. I'm working on certain projects myself here in Los Angeles, trying to find a script to work with other people, so that's what I have my sights set on. That's what I want to do with the rest of my life. I had a ton of fun on The Condemned and I learned so much. I also realized that I have a ton more to learn and improve. I remember my first wrestling match... I was pretty much terrible, but I turned into being a very good professional wrestler. My goal is to turn into a very good actor, but the only way I'm going to get there is with a lot of repetition."+
